Get Involved

America's Children's Museum on Wheels: StoryBus builds better teachers and better students. The program empowers teachers by encouraging them to develop their own curriculum, teaching to the whole child, utilizing a single classic story. It enables young students to have collaborative literary experiences that bring stories to life, so that they better understand the stories. As a result, the children will develop a lifelong love of reading.

You can participate in this amazing program in a number of ways. You can bring the program to your neighborhood school. You can also donate online.

The easiest way to help: read an electronic children's book online. When you do that, the fine people at WeGiveBooks.org will donate a real book to our program, and we'll get that book into a pre-k or kindergarten classroom in one of Chicago's low-income neighborhoods.

We Give Books

We're always looking for volunteers to help staff the StoryBus! Our friends at Open Books organize our volunteer schedule for us, and have a host of other literacy-related volunteer opportunities for you. Click here to see where your help is needed!
