Ten Little Gingerbreads
Ten little gingerbreads all standing in a line:
One saw a mouse, and then there were nine.
Nine little gingerbreads, not one could wait.
They crossed a big puddle, and then there were eight.
Eight little gingerbreads rushed home at eleven.
Didn't see the patch of ice, and then there were seven.
Seven little gingerbreads all in a sticky fix.
They tried to get untangled, and there were six.
Six little gingerbreads went out for a drive.
They didn't see the pothole, and then there were five.
Five little gingerbreads walked through a swinging door.
One never came back out, and there were four.
Four little gingerbreads, learning how to ski.
Along came a snow pile, and then there were three.
Three little gingerbreads cooked a special stew.
One stirred too fast, and then there were two.
Two little gingerbreads, basking in the sun.
One got too sunburned, and then there was one.
One little gingerbread took a pad and pen,
Drew nine gingerbreads, and then there were ten!
Five Little Cookies
Five little cookies on the oven floor:
The first one peeked out of the door.
The next one wanted to eat a cake.
The third one not a sound did make.
The fourth one said he smelled cheese.
The fifth one heard someone sneeze.
So "Hurry! Get away!" he cried.
When the door opened, she ran outside.
Ginger Cookies Two by Two
Ten ginger cookies on a big plate:
Two were eaten,
Then there were eight.
Eight little cookies stood still as sticks.
Two more were eaten, now there were six.
Six ginger cookies with eyes that were blue.
Two more eaten, now there were two.
Two ginger cookies ran away in the sun.
A fox ate them, so no there were none.
Two Little Ducks
Two little ducks that I once knew (extend index and middle fingers):
Fat ducks, skinny ducks, there were two (hold up same two fingers).
But the one little duck with the feathers on his back (emphasize index finger),
He led the other with a quack, quack, quack (bend arms, tuck hands, flap up and down).
One Little Gingerbread by Laura Richards
One little gingerbread swinging from a tree,
Teasing the sly fox, merry as can be.
Swinging high, swinging low, swinging left and right,
Dear old Mr. Fox, come and take a bite.
One little gingerbread, swinging in the air,
Head up, legs out, little does he care.
Swinging up, swinging down, swinging far and near,
Poor Mr. Sly Fox, are you hungry, dear?
Counting Out Rhyme
Hinty, minty, cuty, corn,
Apple seed and apple thorn.
Wire, briar, limber lock,

One flew east, and one flew west,
One flew over the cuckoo's nest.
